Better Banking Report Launch – Community Networks Aotearoa
“C.N.A was thrilled with what Sophie did for us.
I cannot recommend her high enough.”
— Ros Rice, Executive Officer, Community Networks Aotearoa
Community Networks Aotearoa commissioned me to photograph the launch of their Better Banking report — a culmination of over a year’s research into how banking systems impact Aotearoa’s non-profit sector. Held at the National Library of New Zealand, the event brought together politicians, parliamentary staff, banking professionals, and leaders from across the community sector.
My brief was simple but important: capture the atmosphere, document speakers and guests, and stay responsive to requests from the C.N.A team. To prepare, I visited the venue the day before to scout the space and plan around the lighting — meaning I could work calmly and unobtrusively on the night itself.
Within 24 hours, I delivered priority shots (with black-and-white versions included), followed by a full curated gallery the next day. The images have since been used across C.N.A’s communications and publicity, supporting the reach and visibility of this landmark national report.
